Porter Law Firm has been serving the people of South and Central Mississippi since 1985. What began as a collaboration between three dedicated attorneys — Renee Porter, her husband Tom Porter, and their colleague Hal Kittrell — quickly became a trusted name in the region’s legal community. Over the years, the team evolved as Tom left the firm to become headmaster of Columbia Academy and now serves as CEO of MDR Construction. Hal went on to serve the public as District Attorney.

From the beginning, Renee McBride Porter has remained the heart of Porter Law Firm, dedicating her career to meeting the legal needs of families across Mississippi. She has built a reputation as a fierce yet compassionate advocate in domestic relations matters, including custody, divorce, and child welfare. Renee also has a deep commitment to justice for the injured, with a strong record of securing favorable outcomes against wrongdoers and insurance companies alike.

For over a decade, Renee served the Tenth Chancery District of Mississippi as a Guardian ad Litem, tirelessly advocating for the best interests of children and families. Her work in that role ultimately led to her appointment as Youth Court Referee and Special Master in Marion County — where she continues to champion children’s rights and family restoration from the bench.
